Quality Fabrications, a welding company at 990 Second St. in Berthoud, was badly damaged in a Tuesday afternoon fire that was knocked down by 30 firefighters using seven trucks from five agencies. Firefighters from Berthoud, Mountain View Fire Rescue, Longmont, Johnstown, and Loveland assisted. No one was injured in the fire.

Fire damages two homes in Frederick

Authorities said the Frederick-Firestone Protection District responded shortly before midnight Monday, July 4, 2011, to a call of a structure fire at 4895 Wren Court. A Firestone police officer reported the fire and immediately evacuated several homes. The Frederick-Firestone Fire Protection District was assisted by Mountain View Fire Rescue and the Platteville-Gilcrest fire department. About nine pieces of equipment and 28 firefighters responded to the scene.

Ninth and County Line Fatal Accident

The Weld County Coroner’s Office on Monday identified a man who died in a Sunday morning wreck at County Line Road and Ninth Avenue as 22-year-old Adrian Nunez of Longmont. According to police, Nunez was driving a 2006 Chrysler Sebring at 3:30 a.m. east on Ninth Avenue and sped past a stop sign and through a concrete Jersey barrier used to shield road construction work from traffic along County Line Road. The car traveled 100 feet into a nearby field after striking the barrier, according to police.

About 60 firefighters from 10 agencies are battling The Dome Fire, a 134-acre wildfire that started this Friday, Oct. 29, 2010 in Boulder Canyon.


Fourmile Canyon Fire

Firefighting efforts, both ground and aerial, by crews in the Fourmile Canyon Fire burn area has brought the containment area to 73 percent, officials said Saturday night, Sept. 11, 2010. The wildfire west of Boulder has destroyed more than 150 structures and is expected to cost more than $7 million to fight.

Fire damages home in east Longmont

A fire heavily damaged a two-story house at 1247 Grouse Court on Friday, April 30, 2010 after spreading from a burning ATV quad parked behind that east Longmont home. Six fire department units and an ambulance were dispatched to the fire at about about 10:30 a.m. Investigators are trying to determine what might have caused the fire.
