Gamma Acosta and friends create a ‘Heat Wave’ out of snow
Gamma Acosta, Brett Mielke and Kevin Ginsberg — who are normally known for their graffiti murals at Third Avenue and Lashley Street — broke free from their norm Friday and created a relief snow sculpture they call “Heat Wave,” depicting penguins, polar bears fishing and sun bathing.
Skyline wrestlers fall hard to Longmont
Five Longmont Trojan wrestlers came out strong and had no problem handling the visiting Skyline Falcons on Thursday, Feb. 2, 2012. The only points put on the board by the Falcons’ 62-12 loss came from Trojan forfeits.

Erie boys and girls basketball split games with Roosevelt
The Erie Tigers boys and girls hoops teams split games with visiting Roosevelt on Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2012. The girls, plagued by turnovers, lost 62-47. In the boys action both teams had a combined 61 total fouls, but the Tigers prevailed 82-71.

Silver Creek’s fast pace flustered the visiting Niwot Cougars on Friday, Jan. 27, 2011 as the Raptors walked away with the 64-34 win.
