December Snow
Enough snow made a visit to the St. Vrain Valley on Thursday, Dec. 30, 2010 for kids and adults alike to enjoy. Times-Call weather consultant Dave Larison reported that his 6 p.m. measurement of the snowfall in north Longmont was 3.3 inches and contained 0.15 inches of precipitation, Longmont’s first measurable precipitation since Nov. 16.
March Snow Fall
Snow falls in the St. Vrain Valley just days before the first day of Spring. According to records, if the storm drops 6.2 inches or more, Longmont’s snow total for the season will break into the top 10 snowiest years on record. As of noon Longmont had received 5.3 inches of snowfall, bringing the seasonal total to 59 inches.
