Airport Prairie Dog Traps Set
Workers lay traps in preparation for removing prairie dogs at the Longmont Vance Brand Municipal Airport on Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2010, in Longmont, Colo. Trapping will begin Monday and last for 10 days. The captured animals will be euthanized and frozen to be delivered for use by a raptor rehabilitation center.
Special Needs Prom
Approximately 70 students from Longmont, Colo., and surrounding areas attend the Special Needs Prom at the Brookside Gardens Event Center in Berthoud, Colo., Feb. 6, 2010. The event was sponsored by LifeBridge Christian Church and was a chance for students of all disability levels to spend an evening of fun, food and music together.
Putting wire in the sky
The Platte River Power Authority enlists the help of a helicopter and pilot to help install a 230-kilovolt power line from Mount Sneffels Street and 21st Avenue to the eastern side of Ute Creek Golf Course at Sundance Drive on Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2010. The existing 115-kilovolt line is no longer enough to keep up with Longmont’s power needs.
